John Lennox speaking on the Book of Daniel at Teach the Word 2025

Professor John Lennox, renowned Christian apologist and Emeritus Professor of Mathematics at Oxford University, will be speaking at Teach the Word 2025, a one-day Bible conference hosted by Calvary Chapel UK. The event takes place on Saturday 28 June 2025 at The King’s Centre, Oxford, and will focus on a powerful and timely theme: The Book of Daniel.

The Book of Daniel: Strength for Today, Hope for Tomorrow

Although written over 2,500 years ago, the Old Testament book of Daniel speaks with surprising relevance to today’s world. From the courage of Daniel and his friends as they resisted the pressures of a hostile culture, to the prophetic visions that reveal God’s sovereignty over human history, Daniel offers both challenge and comfort to Christians facing the cultural and moral upheaval of our time.

Teach the Word 2025 invites attendees on a journey through Daniel, from the fiery furnace and the lion’s den to the four beasts and the seventy weeks prophecy. As the world grapples with uncertainty, Daniel reminds us that God’s truth stands firm, and that faithfulness to God brings hope, wisdom, and strength in the midst of trial.

This theme resonates especially with Professor Lennox’s own work, including his book Against the Flow, which explores Daniel as a model for living boldly in the face of intellectual and spiritual opposition.

About Professor John Lennox

John Lennox is Emeritus Professor of Mathematics at Oxford University and President of the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics. He is known worldwide for his books on science, philosophy, and religion, and for publicly debating leading atheists such as Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, and Peter Singer.

In his bestselling SPCK title Against the Flow, Lennox presents a rich study of the book of Daniel, drawing out the parallels between Daniel’s context and the challenges modern Christians face in a secular, often skeptical society.

Professor Lennox is not only a brilliant academic but a gifted communicator who equips believers to stand firm in their faith with clarity, courage, and conviction.

Coming Soon: God, AI and the End of History

Releasing in July from SPCK, John Lennox’s forthcoming book, God, AI and the End of History, explores the ethical and theological challenges posed by artificial intelligence and transhumanism. He asks: Can humanity build a future without God, or are we already witnessing the limits of that vision? In light of biblical hope and Christ’s return, Lennox offers a compelling response to one of the defining questions of our time.

God, AI & The End Of History

Could artificial intelligence and transhumanism prepare the way for the Antichrist?
John Lennox offers a fresh and urgent look at Revelation’s message in light of the technological age. Countless books have explored the meaning of Revelation, but this one breaks new ground. Drawing on respected interpreters of the past, Lennox also asks a bold new question: Could a supernatural force opposed to God be using advanced AI to drive a transhumanist vision of upgraded humanity?

Some scientists predict superintelligences that may rule over humans, others warn of Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI) achieving global control. Lennox argues that these developments could deceive billions, manipulated by the one the New Testament calls ‘the Antichrist.’

This wide-ranging and thought-provoking commentary challenges readers to re-examine Jesus’ final message through the lens of AI, biblical prophecy, and the future of the world.
