Many of you have been approaching us for permission to use chapters from our publications. These are exceptional circumstances, and we want to do what we can to facilitate fellowship even when the community is not physically present. Nevertheless, we as a publisher, cannot afford to have large amounts of our material available on the internet free of charge lest it damages our own ministry and that of the author. We would therefore ask you to adhere to our fair-dealing policy which allows for an extract of up to 800 words to be used (please see our fair-dealing policy on this page). If you are unsure as to whether your request meets our fair-dealing criteria or would like further help, please feel free to contact us using the form below
Special Coronavirus Permissions Policy for SPCK Publishing's Children’s Titles
We have received a number of requests over the past few days from people wanting to use material from our children’s titles for online use, we want to help where we can within reasonable limits, and so we have come up with the following policy: • You verbally acknowledge [title of book] by [author] as the source of the stories and include a caption ‘used by permission of SPCK Publishing’ • You limit yourself to reading up to three stories and reapply for permission for any further use • If posting on a website, you remove the material from your site after a period of six months, we reserve the right to request removal of the material prior to the six-month deadline if we deem it necessary • You give us permission to share it ourselves, in so doing, you tag us in so that we can put it on our social feeds and share it, giving you credit as the creator • You will include the following links to our website for the print edition: [add a link to SPCK Publishing website for the print edition] and for the audiobook: [add link to the SPCK Publishing website for audio edition] If you need further help or clarification please contact us using the contact form below.
