The SPCK Group is delighted to celebrate the appointment of Dame Sarah Mullally DBE, one of our authors, as the new Archbishop of Canterbury.
The Right Reverend and Right Honourable Dame Sarah Mullally, currently Bishop of London, becomes the first woman to serve as the Church of England’s most senior leader. Her ministry is marked by compassion, courage, and deep faith, bringing fresh light and hope to the church and to Christian life across Britain.
As author of A Good Advent and editor of Rooted in Love: Lent Reflections on the Life of Christ, Archbishop Sarah has inspired readers to reflect deeply on faith throughout the church year. Her Advent and Lent books invite us to prepare, to reflect, and to rediscover God’s light at work in the world.
Her words remind us that the light is coming into the world again and again, a message that feels especially powerful in this new chapter for the Church of England.
'We at SPCK Group are delighted to see Dame Sarah Mullally’s appointment as Archbishop of Canterbury, and we pass on our congratulations and best wishes to her. It has been a pleasure for our team to work with Archbishop Sarah on two SPCK titles, Rooted in Love and A Good Advent,' said Sam Richardson, CEO of SPCK Group.'We are also honoured to be the publisher of the Archbishop of Canterbury’s 2026 Lent book, Dancing to the Heartbeat of God, and look forward to working with the new Archbishop and her team to bring the book’s message of enduring hope to those who most need it.'
Archbishop Sarah’s writing and ministry reflect her lifelong commitment to listening, inclusion, and service. As she takes on this historic role, her voice continues to guide and inspire readers seeking faith, hope, and transformation.
