She is dedicated to developing products that engage and inspire children, instil a love of reading and lifelong learning, and share the Christian faith. She is a licensed lay minister at her local parish church, leading worship and actively involved with children and youth work, and enjoys singing, drama and dance (which comes in very useful when co-ordinating the children-led Nativity service each year).

Alice Samuel is an illustrator based in Swansea who graduated with a BA (Hons) in Illustration.
Her love of film noir and nature are the main inspirations for her illustrations with their exaggerated compositions, atmosphere, bright colours and fun characters that create images that intrigue and impact imaginations.

The tale follows a Little Lightbearer, who lights the way for his first group of walkers along The Path. The Path starts in a village and leads up a hillside to a hilltop, which glows in dazzling light. However, The Path has been neglected by the villagers and finding the right way to go is hard. When lost in the dark forest, the Little Lightbearer and the walkers are found by the man, who glows with light and leads them on.
This reassuring story reflects life's twists and turns, but through our hope and joy, love and kindness, we shine bright for one another. Life can sometimes be confusing for children and us all, and we can doubt ourselves, but we are not alone and support can be found around us as we journey together.
There's a deeper meaning, too, based on Bible wisdom about the source of the light that we shine out to others.
