As a dyslexic who understands the issue of readable fonts, I am over the moon that SPCK has produced this dyslexic-friendly Bible for Children. This is a hugely positive step forward, recognising the unique needs of those with dyslexia and ensuring they have equal access to God’s big story. By tailoring the font and layout, SPCK has removed a significant barrier that may have previously prevented dyslexic children from fully appreciating the richness of the Bible. It demonstrates a thoughtful and inclusive approach, allowing these young readers to embark on their spiritual journey with greater ease and understanding.
As a dyslexic, I am beyond delighted that Lion are re-releasing such a superb and well-tested story book Bible in this new, accessible format. The Lion Children’s Bible manages to hold a level of biblical faithfulness and narrative depth rarely seen in many other story bibles within a format that makes it accessible and easy to use for daily reading with or by children of various ages and neurodiverse experiences.
