Diffusion Books

You can show God’s love to a person like Becky

This is Becky’s story:

Becky* was sentenced to ten months in prison for perverting the course of justice. She had lied to protect a partner, on whom she was financially dependent. Like half of all prisoners, Becky struggled to read and so she was unqualified for nearly 90% of jobs.

Whilst inside, she discovered Diffusion. For the first time, she could access easy-to-read books, written for adults just like her. She fell in love with learning and discovered a wealth of new opportunities available to her.

She is now continuing her learning journey on the outside, with Adult Education Services near her home.

Every week, we hear from people like Becky whose lives you have transformed.

But it is hard to know how you can help those in prison. It’s even harder to know how you could inspire long-term change in a stranger’s life. By giving to Diffusion you can do both.

Last year, thanks to your donations, we:

  • sent over 6,500 books to prisons throughout the UK;
  • we resourced 66 new reading groups;
  • Diffusion reading groups have now been run in 70% of British prisons.

To continue showing prisoners a better future, full of fresh opportunity, we urgently need your help.

By the beginning of May 2019, we need to raise £5,000 in order to reprint all of the Diffusion titles.

  • £17.50 would allow us to print 20 books
  • With £152.50 we could print and send 100 books
  • £350 could pay for an entire print run of one title

With your help, we could see Diffusion books in 100% of British prisons by the end of 2019.
